The UK has seen a dramatic reduction of DD on herds that are choosing to footbath regularly. Lameness is now a bigger issue than mastitis on the majority of dairy herds. This is due mainly to increased awareness and effort in the prevention of mastitis, whilst the increase of DD has been allowed to continue. We now need to increase the awareness and prevention of lameness. This is requirement for cow welfare, productivity and profitability within the dairy farm.

The Hoofcount system is designed to offer this method of control for lameness. Like teat dipping it is not the only factor in reducing lameness but itβs a big factor. Claw hygiene is crucial.
Benefits of the Hoofcount System.
Counts the number of cow passes through the bath (this can be set at any number) – changes after the set number to keep the solution effective.
Effective footbath solution β 4β depth β no jets / sprays. β The immersion of the hoof ensures that all 4 feet are treated on the front and rear of the claw ensuring full claw health.
Rubber floor β cow comfort and grip meaning the cow naturally walks through rather than walking too quickly or jumping through.
316 stainless steel folded 4 times each side β gives strength, durability, longevity and is suitable for any chemical.
Full width opening door β ensures a fast empty and no obstruction for soiling. Suitable for sand bedding systems, the Hoofcount bath does not require electric pumps to empty the soiled solution.
2 water solenoids β flush solenoid and fill solenoid β ensures the maximum effectiveness using water pressure to jet the bath out whilst also quickest refill time without compromising the wash.
Chemical entry manifold β mixes chemical at the control box to give an effective mixed solution as it enters the bath.
2 Chemical pumps β can be manually alternated or automatically set to give more effective use of different chemical types or strength.
Bespoke Footbaths β sizes can vary to give maximum benefit possible and cater for smaller spaces.
Excel bath β longer 12β bath available ensuring 3 dips per foot if required.
